Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2022
The 2022 Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition concluded recently with Shivansh Gupta (Grade 9), Diva Malhotra (Grade 9), and Sifti Kaur (Grade 8) as proud winners from HIXS.
Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, established in 1883, is the world’s oldest international writing competition for schools. Holding research and communication amongst the most important traits of an IB learner, this platform inspires students across the globe to express their ideas through writing and harness the power that their voice holds within the immediate and global community.
The topic of writing is picked from amongst the themes that explore the Commonwealth’s values and principles focused on the environment, inclusion, the role of youth leadership, and gender equality.
While Sifti and Diva expressed their thoughts about active & responsible citizens and finding inspiration from the ordinary, Shivansh’s writing is an extended metaphor narrating humanity’s experience with the COVID-19 pandemic, an event many relate to.
