ARTS

The school believes in giving free rein to younger children’s imagination, so that they can develop creative skills through the expressive and performing arts. To begin with free-flowing art means paint and mess everywhere. Over time, we equip children with skills such as drawing or clay work to develop their fine motor skills and master multiple media. HIXS children become skilled in different forms of art, and develop an appreciation of visual and performing arts.

In music, we follow the Hungarian Kodaly method of teaching where emphasis is placed on varied musical experiences such as rhythm, timing, tune, vocals, notes and percussion. This helps children to develop a musical sensibility, and an appreciation and life-long love for music.
The primary purpose of the arts programme is to grow children’s aesthetic sense and to help them experience the boundless beauty of this universe through all their senses.
